The cryptocurrency Bitcoin has been mentioned in the media with

increasing frequency over the past eighteen months, so what is it?

The term "cryptocurrency" can be just a little bit scarey, but when it's

broken down into its individual parts (and the more technical pieces

are put aside) it's actually quite easy to gain an overall understanding.

At the BoP Linux Group meeting on 6 June, we will be explaining Bitcoin

in easily understood terms and show how it relates to the everyday

transactions which are already familiar to us.
